Past President, Paul Harris Fellow, 40 Years Member, Marlen Murphy passes
Marlen David Murphy Marlen David Murphy, 88, of Kingsville, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 in Kingsville.
He was born Dec. 12, 1924 in Nacogdoches.
He was a retired owner of a local credit bureau.
Marlen was a member of Kingsville Rotary Club since January 9, 1973. Very active and with many years of perfect attendance, he was a Past President and had a very successful year. Even as he became ill, he came often to the club lunch meetings and sat with his long-time friends, at the forever young Rotary table. Marlen received his first Paul Harris Fellow recognition in 1981 and he received a second one later.
Visitation will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Turcotte- Piper Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Jack Willoughby officiating.
Burial will follow that afternoon at 1 p.m. at Seaside Memorial Park Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
